Bike Commute Challenge was a month-long party encouraging Wieden+Kennedy Portland employees to commute to work by bike in September 2012. This effort took place in conjunction with the the Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA) of Oregon and several local and state businesses who all competed against each other to see who could commute the most number of miles during the month. W+K logged over 10,000 miles in 2012 and took the title.
I developed a colorful and versatile system with design and writing that invited employees to commute and log their miles. We made posters, shirts, a screen takeover animation, and several events to keep the party going all month. We even had a tandem bike ride photo opportunity for employees with David Kennedy (the K in W+K).
